The ACFE Vancouver Chapter is pleased to provide the following training event.
Several themes come to mind when we think about the 21st Century Anti-fraud professional including innovation, collaboration, communication and continuous improvement or rather, lifelong learning. These themes have been made even more relevant during COVID-19 and impacted every area of society including fraud detection, prevention and investigation as part of our new hybrid, digital world.

The 21st Century Fraud Fighter: Introduction to Technology Training Series
As technology continues to infiltrate every aspect of our life opportunities for fraud and financial crimes are growing and evolving. From social media scams, cyber security breaches, ransomware and accounting data alterations. The 21st Century Fraud Fighter needs to understand this new technology landscape and undergo a digital transformation. This presentation will introduce some of these new and emerging trends and introduce a digital skills training series being offered to the ACFE Vancouver Chapter membership starting this fall.
Speaker Bio

Taking technology transformations to new heights. Mr. Steve Wilson currently works in the information and communication technology ecosystem providing strategic solutions to his clients. Steve sees patterns where others see noise, whether it’s fraud investigations, cyber/digital forensics, big data analytics challenges, risk management, digital transformation strategy or strategic innovation and change leadership. Combined with a number of professional and academic certifications; Steve epitomizes industry best practices within the field of information and communication technology, providing strategic insights for successful outcomes. Some of his past clients come from a variety of industries including financial services, law enforcement, oil and gas, retail, legal services, government, transportation, education and non-profit.
Steve is also actively involved in the community and is the current President of the Vancouver Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, member of the Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers Association and the BC Elder Financial Abuse Prevention Action Group. Steve has also developed the Graduate Certificate Program on Forensic Investigation of Fraud and Financial Crime at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Steve continues to assist in the development of post-secondary training opportunities, innovation leadership and engaging presentations at global industry events and conferences.
